Professor Laura Beretta

Senior Counsel

Laura Beretta lectures at the SDA “Bocconi” School of Management in Milan, the International Trade Institute in Dublin and within the Master in Tax Law at SUPSI, the University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland. She is scientific coordinator and lecturer in the training initiatives of the Association of Ticino Enterprises – AITI based in Lugano. She carries out technical assistance projects for developing countries and has represented CONFIAD – the Pan-European Association of Customs Agents – in discussions before the European Commission on amendments to customs regulations. She holds a PhD in International Economic Law from “Bocconi” University in Milan.

What does Laura Beretta do?

Laura is an International Trade Advisor in international trade and customs law, including excise duties. She deals with export controls, embargoes, anti-dumping proceedings as well as classic customs matters: tariff classification, origin of goods, customs valuation, origin marking and complex customs rulings. She provides consultancy, support in the preparation of compliance procedures and in-house training. She has gained experience in requesting access to the acts of European institutions, appeals to the European Ombudsman and infringement procedures in customs matters, as well as informal consultations with the European Commission to resolve market access issues in non-EU countries.
